The Car & The Cure
I had a pretty nice day today. That goes with the territory when I don't have to work.
It was my sister and husband's first anniversary today. I made them pancakes this morning.
Then I got ready and took Wicked out for a couple hours. I hadn't driven him in 3 weeks! That's a crime. The battery was totally dead. Grr. The engine ran for at least a half hour while I wiped down the paint and it still wouldn't start when I stopped at the gas station. Ack! Thank goodness for portable jump start machines. Best 75 dollar investment I've ever made.
I drove about a half hour one direction then back down. Stopped at Target for a few things. Still managed to drop 30 bucks. I'm really starting to believe in Vitamin D so I bought more and Vitamin C which I'm running low on. Eyeliner for my Bettie Page costume in case we go out on Halloween. I wanted to try Cover Girl's new lipstain, so I bought one- it's great but the color I bought isn't at all what I expected. I hate that they don't have usable samples. The "color samples" don't help at all. I might go back and buy a lighter one. Though they aren't cheap. $8. Bleh.
I came home, ate lunch and promptly crashed. Slept for a few hours, which felt really good. By the time I woke up my sis had gone out for anniversary dinner so I had the place to myself for a little while. Ate a sandwich for dinner and painted my toenails for my trip.
I still have some cleaning to do. An errand to run, getting some food for my ratties while I'm gone. I'm pretty low on funds and my paycheck is going to be very pathetic. So I'm going to have to make a pretty big dent in my savings. Have some packing to do, and apparently it's going to be pretty cold out there too. Yay. Well all I can say is at least I'm a lot more prepared this time.
Unfortunately, Sway isn't making it any easier on me to go on this trip. She has developed a sore around her "exit" section. I really don't know what do think about it. I put some neosporin on it- she doesn't seem to be bothering it as much. I'm glad I made an appointment for when I come back, but I just hope she holds out for that long. Poor little girl.
