I admire people who can take risks with their lives.
The people who can just uproot and move on a whim without worrying about where they will live, work, get their next meal. I admire people who can throw caution to the wind and just leap in. Risk their chips on a hunch.
They have something in their personality that I need. The ability to just "leap off" so-to-speak. It would be nice to have that kind of confidence.
I'm very calculated. Everything has to be planned. Listed out. Goals are reached in tiny footsteps. Big leaps are never taken for fear of instability or falling down.
That's no good.
There's a decent side to that of course. I guess kind of similar to not liking one's own hair they were born with always wishing it was curly or a different color. It's not that the other one is necessarily better- it's just you think it might be better the other way.
Once I'd like to be able to close my eyes and leap. Feel the freedom as the world passes quickly by me. Waiting for the shimmering parachute to deploy right before the end....."whew" safe again, but much farther ahead than I was before....
I'm leading a life of "quiet desperation", my old methods aren't getting me anywhere....
