Busy As A Bee In Spring
Well, at least I've been productive.
Sunday I got a lot done. My sis, her husband and I went to the flea market and bought some fruit. It's cherry season!!! I bought two pounds and over the last two days I've eaten them all.
We'd planned on having my mum over so I can do a run through with her over what I do every day. So we were gonna have one of our famous "Garlic Nights" where I roast a bunch of garlic and we have cheese, and fruit and bread and olives- things like that. Mmmm.
So after the flea market we went to Trader Joes and got some gourmet cheeses, some hummus spread and bread. I even had a chance to swing by Sally Beauty and get the gold nail polish I'd planned on buying for my trip (to do my toes).
We dropped my sister's husband off at the apartment and sis and I went to the grocery store so I could get the week's supply of food for my rats, some dinners for my mum, and the garlic for the night.
When we got back my sis and her husband left to the baby store. I started cleaning to guest specifications since my mom is gonna stay here. It took me a good two hours to clean my bathroom from top to bottom- even going so far as to go through all my cabinets and toss things that I really didn't need.
Took me another hour or so to straighten my room- though there will be touch ups needed by the time I leave.
Garlic Night was another success. My mom had no clue about all the work I do for the animals- she wants me to write it all down now. Ha! They want me to cut up things for them too, so that's another thing I need to do before I leave.
So today I got up at seven, fed the kittens and left them out to play while I went right back to sleep. I needed so badly to sleep in for once. I slept till almost ten and my sis got up shortly after. We'd planned on running some errands together.
We both dropped off payments for bills. Went to the pet store and dropped 40 dollars on rodent bedding, cat food and fish water treatment.
Drove to the mall. Sis needed nursing bras- imagine my excitement there- but she got what she needed. We stopped by the department store where I used to work- I needed mascara (the only expensive make up product I buy). I also wanted to poke around my favorite section- Lucky Jeans. I found a tank top that was on sale and amazingly a sweater from another brand I really love. Used my store card on that purchase!
Drove to the 'rents house- sis needed to see if her checks (temp work and unemployment) made it in the mail. Swung by the dollar store for some household supplies. Let my sis deposit her checks. Then home.
Even after sleeping in I took a nap. Let the foster kittens out to play. I almost finished packing for my trip. Cleaned the fish tank. Cleaned both hammie cages.
Got some stuff ready for the morning so I can go to the car show tomorrow night.
So, boring, but productive.
Now my sister and her husband are playing neighborhood watch. The kids are in the pool again. So her husband went outside to see where they're going- since they were actually leaving. Now my sister is calling the cops cause apparently they're all drunk and talking shit. Lovely. I'm so tired of playing babysitter here.
I need my vacation.
