For The Love Of The Car
I love my car.
It took almost all day sunday to detail Wicked. Granted it's work for most people, but I really enjoy doing it. Maybe because Wicked is a classic. Don't get me wrong, I like Roger a lot- but I run that little one through the car washes at the gas station, put protectant on the plastic and call it good.
I took Wicked over to the 'rents house early, and washed him first and detailed the engine compartment.
Ran down to the kitchen store that sells the best metal polish on the planet (picked up some for my dad- now he can't say I've never done anything for him). Used my dad's drill and buffer attachment to polish the wheels- they haven't looked this good since they were new. They shine and reflect like mirrors. I could do my make-up with them. I detailed the inside and vacuumed, organized the trunk.
Then for a brief break i went with my brother to my grandparent's house to say hello. Make a cameo appearance on mother's day. My mom was up there too.
Came back early evening and waxed with my favorite wax. Glass finish.
I could just have a one person car show, set up a chair and just stare at him. Going to the weekly car show tomorrow. Our first this year. Say hi to the car show friends. Hang out. Hopefully have a nice night.
I have to make it through this week, and two work days next week, before I get out of here for a week to Arizona. I'm just so glad to get out of here for a bit of time.
Until then, I'll just stare at Wicked.
