...shut up and eat.
It just doesn't stop for me. Today it was something else. I got 6 missed phone calls at work because I couldn't answer. Finally when I checked my phone I had missed calls from my sister and the apartment complex. The only thing I could think was that it was about my car, Wicked. Thank god it wasn't damage to the car- or this incident would have pushed me to the brink. However, it was a big issue. A new neighbor moved in. A single mom with teenage kids living with her. They have a friend that seems to think his piece of shit acura is really something. I'm sorry, front wheel drive burnouts do NOT impress me, or anyone for that matter. This would be the THIRD time this asshole has done this, however he did it near enough to my car to set off the alarm. Which trust me, takes a lot. The alarm went off for an hour. My sister was not home so she could not reset it for me. I had to leave work, and drive home, losing time, using gas, to recover my near dead battery. By the time I got home my alarm was simply beeping- no longer a siren, because the battery was near dead. The apartment manager met me when I arrived, and she was nearly as pissed as I was. Waited next to Wicked while I grabbed my jumpstarter from the apartment. Let me tell you, that 100 investment on the starter has more than paid for itself. Anyway, as I walked back to the car, the teens (minus the asshole driver) were walking to their car to leave- the girl said something about not being happy- I came up behind them and said, "I'm not happy either, your friend wore down my 150 dollar battery AND I had to leave work to come here and fix it. I am not happy." I didn't hear much of anything from their mouths. They left. The manager stayed with me while I started my car, which thankfully started. I had to let it run for a little while at least to charge up the battery some. The mom of the teens came out shortly after I started the car. She actually apologized and the manager and I explained to her that those friends are no longer welcome in our parking lot, if they come over they need to park on the street. Their behavior will not be tolerated. I understand she's a single mom so I loosened up the best I could, introduced myself properly, shook her hand. Explained to her how much it would cost me to replace my battery, which of course she "can't afford" to pay me for. I said, if this never happens again, that will be payment enough. Thing is, I have a feeling this isn't over. These teenagers and their friends are going to be a problem. They know who has a problem with them, and which cars are mine now. I'm not happy with that. Not that I don't know about that acura, but I don't know where he lives so he has the one-up on me, and teenagers nowadays are disrespectful assholes. The mom even stated she didn't know who the kid was, which doesn't bode well with me. Tells me she's never home, up until today I haven't seen hide nor hair of her- so that's what happens with unsupervised teenagers. Not looking forward to summer and the pool situation again. They'll add to it I'm sure. To put icing on this fucking cake, in my haste and worry to get Wicked started I forgot to raise the car cover on the exhaust side and burned a hole in it on one side (thankfully the other exhaust pipe was already exposed). That was a brand new car cover too. The hole is pretty huge. I'll have to find a way to patch it. I can't afford to replace it right now. When am I going to catch a break?
